Happy First Day of Fall! September has been a whirlwind so far and there has been so much going on as of late. I promised to catch you up to speed in my last post but before I get into all of that, in case you don’t care about the personal stuff (not offended at all!), let me get right to the outfit details first.

I love the look of lariat necklaces. They are all over the place this season and are so versatile due to how many ways you can wear them. This one by Kendra Scott is a favorite of mine. If I want to wear it as a statement piece, I either tie it in a knot, leave the loose ends hanging, or even wear it around my neck untied all together. For a more subtle look, I like to tuck it into a t-shirt so that you can only see the top half (casual and cute).

I wanted my necklace to be the focal point so I paired it with a faux leather-trimmed top, my favorite distressed denim (on sale!) and some neutral accessories. We all know how much I love neutrals 🙂

I’m so happy to announce that today, you can head over to my Instagram to enter to win the Kendra Scott Phara necklace and a $50 gift card to Paula & Chlo! You don’t want to miss out on this prize– it’s a good one and entering is super simple! Click on my latest photo for instructions on how to win.

On to life lately… Eddie and I took a much-needed vacation to Williamsburg with my in-laws last month. It was the perfect destination for a little getaway because it is only two hours from the DC area. My in-laws carefully planned the details of our trip to allow me to do as much as possible and given my health issues, the hot weather, and other contributing factors, I’m pretty proud of what I accomplished! Minus a few setbacks, I walked over 20 miles within 5 days, laid by the pool for the first time since our honeymoon, and was able to do a majority of what we had planned. We went to the Jamestown Settlement, went on a ghost tour, ate at some great restaurants, shopped a little, and visited the Yankee Candle Factory– oh my goodness. For someone who loves candles as much as I do, this was a definite highlight of the trip! I felt like I was on Supermarket Sweep and dashed around the store throwing candles into my cart like they were free. Sadly, they were not and we may have gone broke if I didn’t get sick after 45 minutes which forced us to leave. Yankee Candle- 1, Michele- o. All in all, it was a fun and relaxing vacation and I’m so glad we went!

As if getting car sick toward the end of the ride wasn’t bad enough, immediately upon arriving home I found out that my blog was hacked while we were away #RUDE. Talk about an invasion of privacy! I felt like someone broke into my house and changed the locks. I’m still not sure how long my site was down for given that I completely unplugged while on vaca but I’m happy to say that that nightmare is behind me now. What. a. pain. In case you tried to come to C&G and were taken to a German Soccer website, now you know why (you mean you didn’t want to buy a knock-off jersey?).

Don’t forget to head over to Instagram to enter to win the Kendra Scott Phara necklace and a $50 gift card to Paula & Chlo. Check out their site while you’re at it…this cashmere scarf and this bag are on my wish list!
