White After Labor Day

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend! Things have been a whirlwind around here (someone hacked into my site…rude, and although we’re back up and running, I have a lot of catching up to do). I will fill you in on our vacation, some life updates, and what’s been going on since then next week!

Can you believe that summer is already coming to a close? As much as I hate the end of the warm-weather season, I always look forward to this time of year because it’s the beginning of fall candles (I’ve already stocked up on my fav BB&B scents), pumpkin spice latte’s, and cozy layers (#basic.) Although I love adding sweaters, boots, and cardigans back into my wardrobe, cooler temps don’t mean that we need to put away all of our favorite summer pieces.

One fashion rule that I definitely do not believe in is “no white after Labor Day”. I love wearing shades of white all year round and this ivory-colored midi dress is no exception! It would’ve been ideal to pair it with a black moto jacket (on sale for under $50!) to finish off the look and make it more fall appropriate but it’s been 97 degrees in the DC area. We’ll just have to use our imaginations for now because a girl isn’t going to lose consciousness for the sake of an outfit, ‘kay?

Block heels are having a moment and I’ve heard rave reviews about these sandals for months. I really wanted them in powder blue (they come in a bunch of color options), however, when I tried them on in store, the higher arch was cutting off circulation to my toes (low blood pressure problems). I was so upset they didn’t work for me but I was thrilled when I found this pair! They have a slightly lower heel height, are less expensive, and I love them so much that I recently picked them up in the nude color as well. They are so comfortable and a great staple shoe.

    Hi Michele!
Can’t wait to hear about your vacation and updates! It feels like summer just flew by. The weather is still summer-like, but I still can’t believe it’s September already! Those are some of my favorite candles as well! I cannot wait to stock up. Thanks so much for sharing! I love the dress, the entire outfit and love the block heels! I can definitely relate and now need to find those shoes! Great post. ?

Thank you for the sweet comment, Janie! Summer did fly by and at this rate, fall is going to fly by too! This dress was one of my favorite purchases of the summer and the block heels have already been well-worth the $50 I paid for them 🙂 I love it when staples are comfortable and budget-friendly. I hope you’re having a great week and thanks for stopping by! xo

Love you with a bold red lip! I just bought those sandals in nude too b/c my blue ones are just so not comfy for more than about an hour! Can’t wait for #basic Fall things either, girl. Glad your site is back safe! Happy Monday!

Thank you my gorgeous friend! Please excuse the delayed reply, I haven’t been feeling well lately and haven’t been doing much other than resting! I had a wedding to attend this past weekend and wore the nude version. These sandals are so comfortable, aren’t they?! I love the blue ones you have but they are just too high #thisis30. I hope you’re having a good week and I need to get back to social soon– I miss you! xox
