Given that I’m usually running late (bad habit) and working with the energy of a grape tomato, I’m always looking for ways to streamline my getting ready routine and cut corners without compromising the integrity of a look.

I had an “aha!” moment in college while getting dressed in a hurry per usual that changed the way I look at my wardrobe. It dawned on me that it is so much easier to throw on a dress rather than try to coordinate a top and bottom. As such, my go-to outfit for the spring and summertime is a simple, basic dress. It is such an easy way to look polished and chic while putting in minimal effort and this year, I’m all about the midi length as mentioned here and here.

I spotted this dress and online and once I saw the price tag, immediately added the white version to my cart. However, as I’m trying to incorporate more color into my wardrobe, ultimately opted for the denim blue color instead. The linen fabric is perfect for the warm weather but FYI, it’s a little sheer so I did have to add a slip underneath. I love that it can be worn with flat sandals for a casual look or easily dressed up with heels and statement accessories.

Do you have any tricks to getting ready in a hurry? If so, please share them in the comments below– I’d love to hear! As always, thanks for reading.

Love this look on you! I totally agree that sometimes I just can’t come up with a creative outfit on the fly. My trick to getting ready quickly, especially on weekdays (for work), is to lay out my clothes the night before so that I can get out the door quickly in the mornings!

PS. Love that you are incorporating more color into your wardrobe #theneutralstruggleisreal

Thank you Kristen! I used to struggle every day when I had to get ready for work so I’d also try to pick out my outfit the night before and when in doubt, throw on a dress! Ironing was a whole other struggle though haha! I love the progress on your house and am SO SO excited to see it all finished. Completely envious! I hope you have a wonderful week xo
