…I’m sorry it’s been two whole weeks since you’ve last heard from me…. okay, no more Adele references, I promise. Happy Friday, friends! As you know, my health takes priority over, well, everything, and I am happy to report that it’s actually been a positive priority the past couple weeks! As I mentioned in previous posts, December and January were really rough months for me. It culminated to where I was bedridden for almost a week but life works in mysterious ways because since then, I’ve actually been feeling a little bit better! However, I hesitate to say that for two reasons. One, I am not “better” by any means and it saddens to me think of how much progress I need to make before I’m back to my old self again and two, I never know how long the “good” periods of time are going to last. It may simply be a few hours during the day, intermittent periods of time over the course of a few days, etc., but however long it lasts, it’s a huge confidence booster for me. After being sick for a year and four months, I appreciate every moment that I can actually do “normal” things. I’ve capitalized on my increased energy and have been making some positive changes in my life. Given the “New Year” (okay, so I’m still a little behind) I made a resolution to get my life back on track in every way that I physically could. I will no longer allow my health to completely run my life and I’m proud to say that I’m at the point where I can finally start making some small changes.
A goal I set for myself is to get out of the apartment at least one time a day. It may not sound like much but given that so many days have been spent never smelling the fresh air, it’s a big improvement for me. I’ve been walking outside, going to the store with a friend, and even went out to dinner two times last week! I know- stop the presses. It was a major moment for me. I have been using all of my energy to accomplish my goal of enjoying life and doing more that I haven’t had time for much else, hence the lack of posts. As I said, I don’t know how long my boost of energy will last so while it’s here…#YOLO!
I have also decided that I am going to make blogging more of a priority, feeling well or not. When I created Classic & Gray in August, the goal was always to have lifestyle posts mixed in with fashion, beauty, home decor, etc. In the beginning, I wrote several personal (and long) posts about my life and health to help you get to know me and my story better. Lifestyle posts are some of my favorites but also the most time-consuming, by far. Given the lack of energy I had around the holidays, I haven’t felt up to writing one in a while but I have one in the works 🙂 Whether it’s a 1500 word
novel post about the time I thought my life would end on an airplane or a quick post about my new coat on sale, I’m going to make the effort to blog more frequently. I also have some really, super exciting collaborations coming up in the next month or so stay tuned for those 🙂
Thank you for supporting this little hobby of mine, it means so much to me. Life is all about balance and after a year and four months, it’s about time I start to find mine again. Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for reading!
