I hate to rush away Christmas (my absolute favorite holiday) before it’s even arrived but New Years Eve is right around the corner! Can you believe it will be 2016 in less than two weeks?!
If you’re anything like me, you’re planning on running to the mall December 30th (or if you’re really like me, the 31st) to frantically try to find something cute and in your size. What will wind up happening is that you will head to aforementioned mall, spend 25 minutes trying to park, bounce from store to store tearing through heavily picked-over holiday shopping leftovers, and wind up leaving hours later with something way more costly than you intended or a slinky black dress from Forever21. Due to your mid-day shopping excursion, you will subsequently have no time for your mani or blow out appointment (can you guess this has happened to me
seven several times before?) This year, I decided to smarten up and plan my outfit ahead of time and I’m giving you the heads up as well!
I’m not sure what’s on the agenda but no matter what my plans are to ring in 2016, I know that I want to be two things, festive and comfortable. I love dressing up and New Years Eve is always the perfect opportunity to get a little fancy. (Aside from last year’s sweatpants) I typically wear a dress but this year, I wanted to try something different although equally fun!
I was shopping on Fashion Junkee last week and these sequin leggings immediately caught my eye. What better way to celebrate the beginning of a New Year than in sparkly pants?! I was sold on the idea pretty quickly and pictured them with a chunky sweater to balance the look. I spotted this off-the-shoulder sweater within minutes and knew it’d be the perfect complement to my leggings! My comfy-chic vision was coming to life.
My order arrived really quickly and I am so pleased with my choices! The sequin leggings are lined and warm (trust me, it was freezing when we shot this look!) and the chunky, neutral colored sweater will be on repeat far into the new year. (My leggings and sweater are currently available in all sizes so if you love this outfit, don’t wait to order!) I decided to add a tweed clutch and break out the Loubs from their dust bags because why not literally put my best foot forward in 2016?! I’ll probably add some curls and a red lip to polish off the look. What are your plans for the New Year?
(Thank you so much to Fashion Junkee for sending me these beautiful pieces and for such considerate and amazing customer service!)
